Obituary of Sandra Gaskins
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of Sandra Gaskins, who passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025.
Sandra was born on June 6, 1950 to Leslie and Verla Fuchs in Willmar, Minnesota. She was raised in Paynesville, Minnesota, alongside her siblings. In adulthood, Sandra worked tirelessly as a Teacher’s aide in Chicago, mainly for the Queen Bee School District #16. She was a kind and compassionate educator and took pride in her work as she shaped the minds of the next generation.
Sandra found true love in her husband, Norman Gaskins, and the pair brought two wonderful children into the world. To Sandra, her family was her life. She loved her children and was delighted when blessed with grandchildren. She was always around to lend a helping hand and took that opportunity to spoil her grandchildren.
Sandra enjoyed the simple things in life. At the end of the day, you could find her at home, relaxing while watching recent episodes of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy; her favorites. Sandra’s bright spirit and generous heart will be dearly missed.
Sandra is now reunited with those who have passed before her; her beloved husband, Norman Gaskins, her father, Leslie Fuchs, her mother, Verla Meier, and her step-father, Galen Meier. It is now up to the loved ones she leaves behind to carry on her legacy of kindness and compassion. Sandra is survived by her children, Jennifer Niederer (John), Jeremy Gaskins (Nicole), her grandchildren, Jackson, Lily, Ellie, her siblings, Bruce (Diane), Byron (Deanna), Rick, Kathi (Bill), Greg, Debi (Jim), Steve (Nel), Lisa (Roger), as well as a wealth of extended family and friends who will hold her memory dear.
