Obituary of Patricia D. Collins

Patricia D. Collins (Hemschot) passed away peacefully at her home in Denville, NJ on April 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

 

Born in Paterson, NJ to Ernest and Rose (Buratti) Hemschot, Patricia was raised in Ramsey and spent many cherished years living in Long Valley before residing in Hackettstown and eventually settling in the Rock Ridge section of Denville ten years ago.

 

Patricia was a graduate of Ramsey High School, then attended Roanoke College where she was a proud member of Phi Mu sorority.  She dedicated many years of service to West Morris Central High School before retiring. A woman of many talents and boundless generosity, she was an accomplished seamstress who lovingly crafted quilts for family and friends. Her passion for the kitchen was equally well known, and her cooking and baking brought joy to countless gatherings.

 

She was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Ernest Hemschot Jr. and Vivian Kiermaier.

 

Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Daniel Collins of Denville, NJ; her loving daughters, Maura and her husband Tony Titone of Denville and Sharon and her husband Jason Papadopoulos of Portland, OR; and her adored grandchildren, Brendan and Alexa Papadopoulos.

 

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday June 14, 2025, at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church 15 Myers Avenue Denville, NJ 07834.  A Celebration of Life will then be held at the Rock Ridge Clubhouse in Denville, NJ from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.   Funeral arrangements are under the care of Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834. Patricia will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
