Obituary of Stephanie Charlotte Gudor
Stephanie Charlotte Gudor passed away at Morristown Medical Center on March 7, 2025, after a long illness. She was 58 years young.
Born in Hackensack, NJ to Laszlo and Franciska (Wittmann) Gudor, she was raised in Little Ferry before moving to Wharton, NJ 35 years ago.
Stephanie worked for the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation for many years before retiring. She spent many wonderful years with her father and partner in crime, László Gudor, where they enjoyed traveling to Florida, Aruba, and Hungary together. They cherished their time in Elek, Hungary, where they shared heartwarming moments filled with love and laughter with family, especially with her beloved late cousin Bodi Váradi.
She was an animal lover and adored her dog, Angel. Her four-legged friend was a loyal companion and brought so much joy to her life.
Stephanie left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered, always opening her heart and showing deep love and care for others. Full of life and spirit, she was known for her warm greeting, “Hi Hon, how are you?” and her incredible dance moves that could energize and liven up any party.
Her laughter, smile, and big open heart will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Stephanie’s spirit and love will always be remembered.
Stephanie is survived by her loving sister Maria Gudor Bates (Richard) of Denville, NJ and by her adoring nieces and nephews Leslie G. Bates (Craig Levins) of Greentown PA, Richard B. Bates (Carolyn) of Rockaway, Maria F. Bates (Chad Tupper) of Enfield NH, and Andrew A. Bates of Rockaway; and her loving great nieces and nephew, Christian, Emily, Brielle, Brooke, Brenna, Remi, Zoe, and Rae Ann.
Stephanie is predeceased by her loving mother and father, Franciska (Wittmann) and László Gudor, and her cherished great niece, Kiera Levins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 11, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30PM with a Prayer Service from 7:30 to 8:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Interment will take place on Wednesday March 12, starting at 9:00AM at the funeral home and then afterwards to Marcella Cemetery in Rockaway Twp., NJ for a 10:00AM Committal Service.
Memorial Donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital by way of www.inmemof.org.
