Obituary of Claire Bellak
Claire Bellak passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Troy Hills Center in Parsippany. She had shared 98 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, priceless wisdom, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Born on a brisk day in March in 1926, Claire broke the mold when she was born. Claire was raised in Berndorf, Austria to the late Karoline (Schwarz) and Walter Leopold Lempert; she was one of two children to bless their household. Unfortunately, this incredible family was affected by World War II and once it was over they immigrated to Cochabamba, Bolivia. While in Cochabamba Claire met her best friend and soulmate who was also an immigrant from Austria, Ernest Bellak. The two were wed on June 18, 1950 and they began a family of their own before relocating to Montreal, Québec, Canada. Eventually they found their forever home in the United States, first settling into Queens, NYC, NY where their family grew even more! Ernest and Claire raised their sons in New Jersey before retiring to Las Cruces, New Mexico. During retirement they thoroughly enjoyed exploring the United States, especially the Southwest. When Ernest passed away in 2002, Claire returned to NJ to be closer to family.
Claire always worked hard as a homemaker, wife, and mom. She was also a Clerk at United Jersey Bank Northwest and was employed for a short while as a Hairdresser. She was a member of a knitting club but enjoyed spending time with family most of all. While we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Ernest, her parents and her brother. Her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of her adored sons, Franklin B. Bellak of Parsippany and Rodney S. Bellak of Boonton; and dear extended family and friends.
Mausoleum Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, February 18th at 11:30 am at Beth El & Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Claire’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association by way of www.inmemof.org to ensure receipt of your donation. Please light a candle, leave a condolence, or share your favorite memory of Claire here to continue to celebrate her life and her radiance shine on.
