Obituary of William H Robinson

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William Harold Robinson, age 69, passed away on February 9, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. A loving father, grandfather, and cherished friend to many, Bill’s life was defined by his unwavering commitment to his country, his family, and the community of veterans he worked so diligently to support.

Bill was born in Dover and raised in Wharton, New Jersey with his five siblings. After graduating from Morris Knolls he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served with honor and distinction. He was proud of his service and carried the values of duty, honor, and country with him every day.

As a Veterans Service Officer and Benefits Coordinator, he was an advocate for veterans and their families, working to ensure they received the care and recognition they deserved. His work with the American Legion and American Legion Riders was especially meaningful to him, and he was known for his humorous heart and dedication to his fellow veterans.

Bill wrestled in high school, bowled in college, and golfed throughout his life. This past Christmas Eve, he was proud to finally have made the ultimate achievement of a hole-in-one. His greatest passion was riding his motorcycle, whether it was a short ride through the neighborhood or a cross-country adventure. He loved to explore our country on his Harley. His goal was to ride his bike to every state and national park in America. He always looked forward to the American Legion Riders’ Legacy Run each year.

Above all, Bill loved his three children. He enjoyed spending time with them, going on family vacations and making the most out of every day. He was there for everything from a soccer game to a concert to a graduation. He was excited to become a grandpa and spoiled his grandchildren with love and attention.

Bill was not only a dedicated father and grandfather, but a true friend to everyone he met. He had a unique ability to make those around him feel seen and valued and left a lasting impact on countless lives. He found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, and his laughter was contagious to all.

Bill is survived by his beloved children: Christopher Robinson, Heather Golinski, and Sarah Horetsky and his grandchildren, as well as many close friends, all of whom will carry his memory with them forever. His legacy of service, his love for adventure, and his enduring devotion to his country and family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
