Please share a memory of Dominic to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dominic “Don” Dalton, a beloved husband and friend, passed away on February 4, 2025, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ, at the age of 85. His life was filled with rich memories and enduring love, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Don was born on June 6, 1939, in Morristown, NJ, to John and Mildred Dalton. He grew up in Morristown alongside his two brothers, John and Peter, where he developed a deep sense of family and community. A proud graduate of Morristown High School, Don was part of the class of 1957 before embarking on a 40-year career as a Postman with the United States Postal Service. Throughout his years with the USPS, Don became an active member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

In 1966, Don married the love of his life, Marie Savino. Their union spanned over 58 years, filled with laughter, mutual respect, and a shared love for adventure. Together, they traveled the country, creating treasured memories, particularly from their trips to the American Southwest.

Don had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. A lover of music, he amassed a collection of classic rock vinyl records, always eager to play his favorite tunes whenever possible. He was also a history enthusiast, particularly passionate about reading and watching documentaries on historical events. His love for history led him on journeys to the deep South, where he visited significant Civil War battlefields.

In his downtime, Don cherished moments of relaxation, often found unwinding at home with his beloved Marie by his side, watching the latest golf tournaments on TV. He was a man who valued family, friendship, and the quiet joys of everyday life.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Marie; his nephews, Anthony Lepore, Peter Dalton Jr., Michael V. Lepore, and Sean Dalton; his sister-in-law, Eileen Danitz; his sister-in-law, Eleanor Dalton, as well a wealth of extended family and friends, and a legacy of cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends will be deeply missed. He is now reunited in Heaven with those who passed before him; his parents, John and Mildred Dalton, as well as his brothers, John and Peter Dalton.
