Obituary of Arthur Santo Jr.

Arthur Santo Jr., 79, of Rockaway Twp., NJ, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on February 5, 2025.

Born in the Bronx, NY, to Arthur D. and Concetta (Rimi) Santo, Arthur lived in New York until he moved to Rockaway Twp., NJ, 52 years ago.

A proud veteran, Arthur served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In the early 1970s, he began his career as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, first in New York City and later in Parsippany, NJ, from 1976 until his retirement in 2007.

Arthur enjoyed many pastimes, including watching baseball and playing softball for Rockaway Township in his younger years. A devoted New York Jets fan, he held season tickets for many years. Over the years he also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Scott and Jenna.

Arthur was predeceased by his sister, Stephanie Doran, and his son-in-law, Tracy Egbert. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara (Ferrallo) Santo; his daughter, Dawn Egbert; and his cherished grandchildren, Scott and Jenna Egbert, all of Rockaway Twp., NJ. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Susan and her husband Kenneth Banta of Winterhaven, FL; brother-in-law John Ferrallo of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his nieces and nephews, Kerry and her husband Chris Zuck of Bradenton, FL, Christopher and his wife Lisa Kunkel of Montville, NJ, Michele Ferrallo of Toms River, NJ, and Joseph Ferrallo of Toms River, NJ, as well as his great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. www.normandean.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Arthur’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at Inmemof.org.

Arthur’s warm presence and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
