Lyris moved to North White Plains, where she built her family with her late husband, Allen Cooper, along with her three children: deceased Clinton, Leetono and Helena. She was deeply loved by her nieces and nephews: Trudy, Tracy, Richard, Marie, Andy, Caroline, Marcia, Clinton, and Cheryl, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

A woman of profound faith, Lyris found strength and solace in her relationship with God, believing wholeheartedly that he guided her throughout her life.
