Susie was not just a sister in law, she was a friend. Since we’re both Sue, we referred to her as the original Sue Howland.
I’ve been flooded with so many thoughts, I decided to share a few.
We (and Bob) attended church together for many years, always early so we could have tea & sweets afterward at my house.
She never missed the church’s annual spring tea, even donning a hat once for the occasion.
She was an avid reader and we enjoyed many of the same authors. Lots of fun discussions followed when we finished the same books.
She loved to stop by when we were in the yard to help us feed peanuts to the chipmunks.
She provided answers to my many gardening questions, too.
Our families celebrated holidays & birthdays together for many years.
She loved playing trivial pursuit at these gatherings. I remember when someone read a geographical question - what country is Tegucigalpa in-?
She knew…..and had been there! She spoke fondly of her world travels, especially an unofficial night tour by matchstick inside a pyramid at Giza.
She never betrayed a confidence and always had my back. She will be dearly missed and will never be forgotten.
Ecclesiastes 3:2
1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
