Obituary of Jane Trautmann
Jane Trautmann passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 3rd, 2022, in Morristown Memorial Hospital. She was 79 years young. Though we are deeply saddened by her passing, we must take this time to remember Jane for the strong, loving, and independent woman she was.
Jane was born in Jersey City on February 3rd of 1943 to Robert and Grace Lemke. She grew up and attended school in Jersey City where she eventually met the love of her life, George Trautmann, at age 16. The two wasted no time in falling in love, and were married in January of 1962. They began to grow their family while also opening their family business together, George’s Moving. Soon enough, the pair had brought six wonderful children into the world, giving Jane the proud title of mother that she would hold for the rest of her life.
Jane will always be remembered as a devoted and caring mother, and a lifelong caregiver to many. With six children, along came many grandchildren and a few great grandchildren, all who felt the love and warmth that Jane carried with her throughout her life. She was a reliable and resilient woman who protected her family over all else and even a select few who were not related by blood were still treated like family. The holidays at the Trautmann household were always big and full of energy and laughter, Christmas being the biggest celebration of them all. Small tasks like going through old ornaments would turn into parties whenever Jane was involved. So many memories were made in these joy filled days that the people who knew her are lucky to have.
When she could find time to spend for herself, Jane enjoyed playing golf with her husband, taking road trips and travelling to places like Cape May and Florida, or handing out treats to some lucky animals, her favorite being her cat, Ava. She had an endless well of love and care for the people around her that will never be forgotten.
As Jane passes on from this world, she joins those who have predeceased her; her parents, Robert and Grace Lemke, her beloved husband, George, her brother, Robert Lemke, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Trautmann. In her wake, she leaves behind those who will carry on her memory; her children, George Trautmann (Lisa), Glenn Trautmann (Stacy), Gregg Trautmann (Donna), JayneAnn Struble (Wayne), Eric Trautmann (Jen), and Rob Trautmann (Karen); her grandchildren, George Trautmann (Alexis), Michael Trautmann, Leah Trautmann, Karli Hunter (Doug), Taylor Trautmann (Pete), Jodi Trautmann (Kieran), Heather Trautmann, Douglas Trautmann (Hannah), Catherine Trautmann, SPC Nolan Trautmann, Tom Struble (Stephanie), Matthew Struble (Jasmine), Rebecca Struble (Gregg), Katelyn Struble (Niki), Rocky Trautmann, and Giovanni Trautmann; her great grandchildren, Nicholas and Stella Hunter, and Bear, Lincoln and Eleanor Struble; her siblings-in-law, Lynn and Bob Wianecki and Peggy Trautmann; and many more extended family members and dear friends.
