Jacqueline “Jackie” Lord Hackett passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2026 at Sunrise of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. Jackie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, neighbor and parishioner. Her life was full, beautiful and bright.
She was born Jacqueline Warner Lord on July 7th, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Elsie Lord and John W. Lord. She graduated from Rye Country Day School in 1948. Following graduation, Jackie worked as an Assistant Kindergarten teacher at her alma mater. She later worked for Sports Illustrated in Manhattan as a secretary.
She wed her first husband, Clifford H. Benfield, on May 26th, 1956. Together for 20 years, they raised their children, Clifford H. Benfield Jr. and Victoria L. Benfield. Jackie was preceded in death by Clifford in 1979.
Jackie married her second husband, Ralph W. Hackett, on June 25th, 1983. They shared 20 happy years together, rich with travel and caring for their grandchildren, Jacqueline L. Perlmutter and Clifford H. Benfield III. Jackie was preceded in death by Ralph in 2003.
Jackie said goodbye to her cherished son, Cliff, on March 11th, 2024. May they find each other again on their journey. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria, grandchildren, Jackie and Cliff, great-granddaughter, Isla, daughter-in-law, Lucy and countless more family and friends.
Jackie lived her 95 years with positivity and stoicism. How lucky we are to have known her.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11am, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Mountain Lakes.
