Kathleen Joan Hammer

 

 

 

Kathleen Joan Hammer (Hellriegel) passed away peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg, PA on February 4, 2023, at the age of 74.

 

She was Born on March 28, 1948  in Irvington, NJ to the late Benjamin and Lorraine (Hirt) Hellriegel.  She graduated from Irvington High School and soon after moved to Randolph and resided there for 31 years where she raised her family.  She later moved to Henryville, PA where she resided with her longtime companion, Gasper Fiorino.

 

She worked for many years at AT&T as a Provisioning Specialist creating routing paths for Toll Free numbers and retired from there in 2004.

 

Kathy loved animals, whether it was her adored dog, Gatsby or the many other pets she had over the years including cats, dogs, guinea pigs and parrots that she rescued.  She also enjoyed bird watching, wildlife and hiking.  She loved to take road trips, going on destination vacations and spontaneous day trips wherever the car would take her.

 

As a child, she spent every summer at her Aunt and Uncle’s camp, Mada Manor in Malone, NY with her siblings and cousins.

 

Kathy also had a love for antiques and jewelry but above all else she loved to spend time with family, especially her Grandchildren and Great Grandson.

 

She is survived by her loving children Teri Anne Hammer-Rosenski of Rockaway, Robert M. and his wife Diane Hammer of Long Valley and her step son Michael Hammer Jr. of Point Pleasant, NJ. Her cherished grandchildren Joseph Rosenski, Jaqueline Rosenski, Jessica Rosenski, Meghan Hammer and Sydney Hammer, as well as her Great Grandson Brayden Ritcher.  She is also survived by her sisters Lorraine Johnson, Deborah Harrington and her late brother Richard Hellriegel as well as a wealth of nieces and a nephew.  Additionally she is survived by her longtime companion, Gasper Fiorino.

 

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday February 19, 2023, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com with a religious and eulogy ceremony.  A funeral reception will be held afterwards.
