Jeffrey W. Tanico

Jeffrey W. Tanico passed peacefully after a brave bout with his health.  He shared 57 years of love and love of cars with his family and friends. Friends and relatives may visit on Saturday, July 9th from 10 am to 12 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  A Funeral Service will begin at 12 o’clockthat afternoon.  Interment to follow at the Denville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the good work of the Joey Bella Fund, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville NJ 07834.

Jeff was born in Denville to the late Frank and Molly (nee Leatherdale) Tanico and was one of two sons to bless the family. Growing up, he attended Denville schools and St. Mary’s Church.  He had an awesome group of friends and the kids were always together - fishing, ice skating on the lake, dirt biking, skateboarding – doing what kids do.  Jeff’s passion though, was cars.  He was a car guy through and through.  He attended Votech and immersed himself in the auto body program.  He graduated Morris Knolls High School in 1983 and started working…..with cars. He restored and remodeled, cleaned and detailed.  He eventually owned Mr. Bubbles, a car wash in Sussex.  He dabbled in pool and enjoyed his time with the league, but he could most often be found restoring his FORD pickup or enjoying his ’67 fast back.  That was his baby.  When springtime came around, that meant car shows.  When Labor Day approached, Jeff could be found at Lead East.

Everyone knows Jeff is THE car guy, but Jeff will be certainly be remembered for being the greatest guy.  He was the nicest soul one could ever wish to know.  He worked hard and loved his family. Jeff cared for his mother and father, Molly and Frank when their health started to falter and he was there with them until their last breath.

Jeff had more friends, true, lifelong friends than most could hope for in 100 years on this earth.  His smile and his eyes lit up the room and he will be missed beyond measure.

He leaves his brother Peter Tanico, many dear cousins and family members and the greatest friends.
