John Michael Aliprandi

John Aliprandi, John-Michael, Johnny Boy, Goose

John Michael Aliprandi left us all too soon on June 23, 2020.  He was our son, our brother, our grandson, our nephew, our friend, our supporter.  Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30th from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Funeral Home, Denville.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday July 1st at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Ave, Denville.  We ask that you wear a mask if you plan on attending John’s wake or Mass.

In Lieu of Flowers, we kindly ask that you consider a donation in John's name to the good work of either SAMSHA,  The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration; a 24 hour hotline helping people find treatment for addiction with or without insurance OR the New Jersey Humane Society; dedicated to protecting and rescuing stray and domesticated animals in the Hudson valley and Northern New Jersey by way of

John was born on a beautiful August day in 1996.  He was the first child to bless his family and brought great joy through his goofy laugh, warm smiles and great big hugs.  A few years later his sister, Julianna arrived of whom he was always very proud, sharing her accomplishments in school and on the rugby field with all his friends.

John and his family moved to Rockaway when he was in the 6th grade.  He made friends quickly by joining the Rockets Football program where he earned the nickname “Goose” for his somewhat unorthodox stance.  That was quickly corrected by his coaches but the nickname stuck. He attended Morris Catholic where he played football and lacrosse, and became an accomplished wrestler.  He gave back to his programs becoming a youth coach with his Dad with Rock-Den Lacrosse and Morris Rugby’s Flag program.  He also gave back to the Rockets Football program with his former teammates and coaches; whom all remain family friends to this day.

Off the field, John was a gym rat and spent countless hours “getting swole”; and he did.  His insatiable sweet-tooth made ridiculously long Stairmaster sessions a big part of his regiment.  He loved a sleeve of Oreo’s or half a box of Fruity Pebbles poured into a mixing bowl; and then would complain that belly hurt! Second only to the gym was a passion for electronic dance music and attending the massive, weekend-long festivals with friends. He worked at Orange Theory Fitness and most recently was a plumber’s assistant with KB Plumbing, owned by his former football coach and family friend. He was learning the ropes and hoped to be in the pipefitters union one day, also through the support of another family friend.  He was genuinely loved and respected by his family and the good community he lived in.  As we try and mend our broken hearts, we remember all the many blessings John brought to our lives and we will honor him now and always.

He leaves a lifetime of beautiful memories to his parents Stefano and Katie; his sister Julianna; his grandparents; Gian & Eileen Aliprandi and Michael (deceased) & Mary Groetken; his Aunts Leonora, Laurie Lisa, Liz, Luci & Raquel; his Uncles Steve, Dan, Jason, Johnny, Jimmy and Dave; and so many cousins and dear friends.

**We completely understand that some of our family and friends cannot be here with us due to the current health crisis. Please know this -  we feel your love from near and far.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers and in your hearts.**

Thank you,

The Aliprandi Family
