Please share a memory of Jason to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jason Michael Fuentes passed away at University Medical Center in Newark, NJ on December 6, 2017, at the young age of 43. Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, he moved to Rockaway at the end of middle school. He attended Morris Hills High School where he played football and baseball and also ran track. Jason served proudly for the United States Marine Corps as a CPL and was awarded the National Defense Service, Good Conduct, and Humanitarian Service Medals, as well as the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He worked at Statewide Striping I in Parsippany for over 20 years. He loved music, playing poker, and the ocean. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Rangers, New York Yankees, and Rick Flair of W.W.E. fame. He was a walking almanac for anything sports or music related. More than anything Jason loved being a dad. He was an amazing father. He spent so much time with his son playing video games, swimming, and having epic light saber, super hero, and nerf gun battles. Jason is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of whom he was together with for 16 years, Shannon Fuentes. He is also survived by his loving son Avery Fuentes, his brother Ryan Mastrolia, his mother Deborah and his father Angelo Mastrolia. He will be missed by many more loving relatives and friends, he truly touched everyone he met. A celebration of Jason's life will be held at a later date after the holiday, please check back for service times and dates at www.normandean.com. Donations can be made in Jason's memory to the Avery Fuentes college fund by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
