Obituary of Kenny Patterson

Please share a memory of Kenny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kenny Patterson was called back to Heaven on Saturday, December 9, 2017. He was 18 years young.

A freshman at Rutgers University, he had already accomplished so much. He graduated from Morris Knolls High School, where he had touched so many lives of all he knew.  A talented athlete, he played recreation football as a Rockaway Rocket and lettered as an MK Golden Eagle; started Lacrosse as a Rock/Den Renegade who then received many accolades as a talented yet dangerous defenseman who also lettered as a Golden Eagle. He loved to play basketball and support his fellow Golden Eagles as they played basketball and hockey.

He loved video games, sleepovers and hanging out in the basement with all of his cherished friends of which there were many. You are all thick as thieves and he loved you all. He was an avid Giants, Knicks and Devils fan and somehow knew about every college and professional player, their stats, persona and with his beautiful deep voice, would have been a terrific sportscaster.

Kenny was extremely social, charismatic, easy going yet passionate, thrice a Summa Award recipient and always had a beautiful smile and kind word for everyone he knew He was unique and so loved that in his short time, we will treasure the precious memories, his laughter, goofiness, affection for others that will live in our hearts forever.

He leaves only the fondest of memories to his beloved parents, Brian and Claudia Patterson; cherished brothers, Tim and Nick Patterson; treasured grandparents, Renate Kuhnle and Patricia & the late Bill Patterson; his loving Aunts and Uncles, Ilona & Chris, Bill, Mike & Lynda, and the late Patrick; his caring cousins, Elysa, Wyatt, Joe, Jennifer, and Billy; as well as the cherished extended family of devoted aunts, uncles and cousins the family made for themselves.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 10 am at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 90 Church St, Rockaway, NJ 07866. Public Visitation will take place on Friday, Dec. 15th from 3 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ.
