Obituary of Lawrence Harrison Jr.

Lawrence T. Harrison Jr. passed away surrounded by his family on August 1, 2017 in Toms River, NJ. He leaves behind a legacy that many dear friends and relatives can cherish forever.

He was born in Yonkers, NY to Lawrence T. Harrison Sr. and Mildred Harrison (Bell). He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where he graduated with a Masters in accounting and also met his soulmate, Mary Ann Honachefsky.  They later moved to Denville, NJ where they would raise their family and have successful businesses of their own. He was an accountant for 30 years at multiple organizations in NJ. He also ran successful dry cleaning, laundry and vending businesses.  Lawrence served his country in the United States Army. When he wasn’t working you could find him hitting a ball on the greens, casting a pole or putting his feet in the sand.  His favorite vacation spots were Normandy Beach, Bermuda, Atlantic City, Woodloch Pines and Florida.  Lawrence enjoyed being home doing a crossword, puzzles and watching his Yankees. Above all else he was an amazing husband, father grandfather and friend.

He leaves happy memories to his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Harrison; loving children Barbara (Mark) Derrick; Carolyn (Glen) Huntley; Thomas (Ann Marie) Harrison; and adoring grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Julia, Gordon, Scotty, Andrew and Justin.

A memorial visitation will be on Saturday, August 5 from 12-3 pm with a 2:30 pm prayer service at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  Graveside service will follow at Denville Cemetery.  In his memory donations will be made to the Children’s Diabetes Foundation by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.  Please leave a condolence or share a memory with the family.
