Catherine M. Agnelli

Catherine Margaret Agnelli passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2017.  She shared 103 years of faith and love with all who knew her.  A  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 2nd at 10:00 at the Chapel at St. Francis, Denville.  Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass in the Chapel, where Catherine attended Mass daily.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the good works of the Christian Brothers Institute, 260 Wilmot Road, New Rochelle,  NY 10804.

Catherine was born in New York to the late Joseph and Margaret Kelly.  After her, three sons were born and the Kellys raised their family in New York.  After her schooling, Catherine met Bernard Agnelli at choir practice.  The couple married in September, 1937 and settled in St. Albans, Queens  They lived in Long Beach, Long Island for 44 years.  She was a devoted wife and family caretaker.  She cared for her aged Mother, husband, and brother Francis through the years.  She was the proud Aunt to five nephews and enjoyed her time spent with them.  After the death of her husband Bernard in 2000, Catherine remained in the family home until she was 93 years old.  She then moved to the St. Francis Health Resort.  It is here where she enjoyed daily Mass in the Chapel and made new friendships.  She enjoyed her time spent here and was able to be at home and surrounded by her faith and her family until her last day.

She leaves happy memories to her nephews Brother Thomas E. Kelly, CFC, Robert J. Kelly (wife Maureen) and Donald Kelly, great nephews Christopher and Michael and great niece Katherine. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bernard; her brothers Joseph, Francis and William Kelly; and her nephews Kevin (wife Patricia) and James Kelly.
