Obituary of Erla Keyser
Erla Lois Keyser passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Merry Heart Senior Care in Boonton, NJ. She was 90 years young.
Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, to the late James and Annie Steinburg, she came to the United States at age 30 after meeting her soulmate, Henry “Hank” Keyser. They were happily married for over 50 years before he passed in 2009. They did many things together including arts & crafts, going to shows, gardening flowers and vegetables, and canning. Once they raised their beautiful family in Lincoln Park, they retired to Pennsylvania. Erla was an amazing cook and baker; her family was especially fond of her famous apple pie. She was also a very active member of the First Reformed Church of Lincoln Park and their choir. Erla had a special talent for playing the piano and singing, her voice was beautiful. She was also a big part of her neighborhood, as she was a social butterfly. She was a very attentive caretaker and truly cared for everyone that was a part of her community. Erla will be sorely missed by her family and friends and will remain in our hearts and memories for an eternity.
Predeceased by her siblings, Murray Steinburg, Muriel Swerdfeger, Lyle Steinburg, and Gordon Steinburg, left to keep her legacy alive are her beloved children, Heather Egan and her husband Peter of Wantage and Kevin Keyser and his wife Teressa of Somerset; her cherished grandchildren, Kristin Flynn and her husband Ryan, Brian Egan, Kate Keyser, and Kyle Keyser; her adored step-grandchildren, Bjorn and his wife Natalie, Kristian, and SvenAren Svendsen; her treasured great-grandchildren, Braden and Connor Flynn; special pup, Molly; and many other extended family and friends.
