Susan Donovan, Loving Wife, Mom and Grandma

“And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”

Susan Donovan (nee Arthur) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.  She shared 66 years of love and laughter with her family and friends.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 2nd at 1pm at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville.  Visiting hours will begin at 10:30 that morning at the Norman Dean Home For Service, 16 Righter Ave., Denville.  Donations in her name may be made to the good work of the Market Street Mission by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.

Susan was born in Kearny to the late James Arthur and Elizabeth Osborne.  During High School, she met George Donovan and the couple married shortly after graduation.  They started their family and eventually settled in Denville where she raised the kids.  She worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital for many years in the medical records department.  She was patient and hardworking.  She was a devoted wife and loving Mother and always instilled in her girls the value of education and the importance of being independent.  She enjoyed Lake Hopatcong and looked forward to family vacations at Topsail Island, NC.  She was the proud Grandma of eight and always bragged of their accomplishments and enjoyed their sweetness and silliness.  This family Matriarch will surely be missed and has given us much to celebrate and honor.

Predeceased by her dear sisters and brother Dolores Schneider, Lillian Soskolski, Elizabeth Drury and Larry Osborne; she leaves beautiful memories to her husband George Donovan of 47 years; her children George, Amy Rawa (Shawn) and Diane Paskas; her grandchildren William Mitchell, Hope and Kelsey Donovan, Grace Munich, Jack Rawa and Charles, Kylie and Casey Paskas; brother William Osborne and many more dear relatives and friends.
