Obituary of Frank Morlock

Frank L. Morlock peacefully passed away at St Clare's Hospital in Dover, NJ on March 13, 2017, surrounded by family.

He was 91 years old.

Born in Hackensack, he had been a lifelong resident of Morris County, living in Jefferson and Denville, NJ.

He served in the Merchant Marines and was a long time member of St. Mary's Church in Denville, NJ where he was a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was part of the Third Secular Order of the Franciscans and Elder of the Native American Ojibwa/Chippewa Nation. He went on to become a Master Preservation Carpenter of Antiquities, working for Boystown, New Jersey.

He was an artist who loved to paint and made amazing wood carvings. He crafted baskets and tepees out of birchbark and built a boat by hand. He had a pilots license and flew a single man aircraft all over the northeast. His skills as a carpenter, mason and electrician were such that he could fix just about anything.

He was predeceased by his son Frank in 1967 and his daughter Cynthia in 2008.

Frank is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marilyn (Coale) Morlock. He is also survived by his loving children John, Sharyn, Leigh, Thomas, Dennis and Michael, 18 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass will be held on Monday March 20, 2017, at 11AM at St. Mary's Church in Denville, NJ, under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
