Margaret Ellen Peters Rebell, 91 of Rockaway, formerly of Mountain Lakes, NJ passed away peacefully on November 3, 2016 at home surrounded by her children. Peggy was born September 29, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa to Paul D. and Estella D. Peters. She graduated as an RN from Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia. She had a passion for music, medicine, people, her religion, dogs and horses. Professionally, Peggy was the head of the Coronary Care Unit at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville for 17 years. As a resident of Mountain Lakes for over 56 years she actively participated in her community as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, as President, set designer and musical director of the Barn Theater in Montville, NJ. Additionally she was very active in the Women's Club at the United Methodist Church of Denville and the Salvation Army and an accomplished musician, artist and ceramicist. Peggy was known for her sense of humor and wisdom. She brought laughter and knowledge to every situation. As a most loyal friend, her kind and generous heart was a tower of strength to all who knew her. Her husband of 66 years, Warren E. Rebell predeceased her in April of 2014. She is survived by her son, Warren C. of Rockaway, NJ daughter Wendie Blanchard and husband Brian of Stillwater, NJ, daughter Judy Marinano of Randolph, NJ, grandsons Noah Blanchard and his wife Susan of Vernon, NJ and Ian Blanchard and his companion Aliza Kawecki of Stillwater, NJ, her great granddaughters Layla and Cecilia. Her sister, Joann Abel of Hellertown, PA, brother Mark Peters and wife Frances of Roanoke, VA and many wonderful nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews also survive her. A celebration of her life will be held on Sat., Nov. 26th at 1:00 pm at Denville Community Church, 190 Diamond Spring Road, Denville, NJ. Donations may be made in her memory to the United Methodist Church of Denville. Please leave a condolence for her family.
