Obituary of Joan T MacDonald

Joan MacDonald passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 surrounded by the love and prayers of family. She was 85 years old. Born in Union City, NJ to Orville and Agnes Clark, she lived for many years raising her family in Colonia and Mountain Lakes, NJ before moving to Denville in 1991. Joan was a giving and loyal friend, compassionate to all who knew her and everyone she met. A devout Catholic, she was a long time parishioner and Eucharistic minister at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mountain Lakes. She loved gardening, garage sales, a hot cup of coffee and spending time with her family, friends and Molly, her dog and constant companion. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack MacDonald, second husband Richard Kellenberger, son Jack MacDonald Jr., and granddaughter, Laura. She is survived by her brother Lee (Valerie) Clark of Manahawkin, NJ, sister Agnes (Dick) Ghilain of Ridgefield Park, NJ, her 6 children, Jim (Leslie) of Clifton Park, NY, Kevin of Los Angeles, CA, Bob (Tracy) of Flemington, NJ, Glenn (Janna) of Conyers, GA, Mary (Peter) Catalano of Manlius, NY, and Colleen (Jim) Trainor of Madison, NJ, daughter-in-law MaryJean MacDonald Tepp, and her step-children Pattie Caruso and Susan Kellenberger. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was loved by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, October 13, at 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville NJ 07834.
