Obituary of Maureen Joy Longfield

Maureen J. Longfield (Dockery) of Denville, NJ passed away at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville on September 13, 2016, at the age of 73. Born in Jersey City, she grew up in the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ and spent her entire life in Denville. Maureen was a graduate of the Wilford Beauty Academy in Newark, NJ and she then worked as a beautician before going to work as a nurse's aide at both St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston and St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. For many years she volunteered for both meals on wheels and Birth Right in Dover, where was the director. She also volunteered for the Seeing Eye in Morristown and raised 8 Seeing Eye dogs over the years. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Theile in 2012. Maureen is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years Richard Longfield of Denville, and her loving children Wayne Longfield of Sussex, Robert Longfield of Boonton Twp., Maureen Kapral of Augusta, and Mark Longfield of Denville, NJ. Her 8 grandchildren Lauren, Christopher, Lindsay, and Katie Longfield, Megan & Trevor Kapral, and Breauna & Crystal Longfield also survive her. Visitation will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 on Friday September 16, 2016, from 9am – 12:30PM.
