Obituary of Walter Frank Siegel

Please share a memory of Walter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Walter Frank Siegel passed away peacefully on August 1, 2016 at the age of 83. He was born in Elizabeth and later moved to the Cedar Lake section of Denville, NJ where he grew up with his brother Richard and his sisters Phyllis and Jeri. Walt honorably served as Staff Sergeant in the Airforce for five years, most of which he was stationed in England. He loved England very much and this is where he met and wed Jo, the mother of his three children. Walt later became a member of American Legion Post 390. He spent many years working for Unisys in many capacities from Systems Analyst to Convention and Special Events Planner. During this time, he received his Master's Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Walt never did retire though and went on to be a Business Consultant and a Real Estate Agent. Walt traveled the world for work and for pleasure taking thousands of beautiful pictures along the way and his love for music and dance followed him wherever he went. He was also an avid cook and put love into everything he made from Fish Stew to Roast Duck. He was known as the "Pig Meister" of Cedar Lake and with his best friend, Bob Howering, prepared and cooked pigs for many pig roasts at the Cedar Lake Clubhouse. Walt was the beloved father of Brian, Scott and Dawn; the cherished grandfather of Tara and he was a caring brother to Phyllis, Richard, Jeri, Loretta, Billy, Vivian, and Eleanor. A "Celebration of His Life" will be held at Cedar Lake Community Club, 134 Cedar Lake East, Denville, NJ 07834 on Sunday August 7, 2016 at 1:00 with a 2:00 service and the Celebration will continue after.
