Donna Therese I. Costello passed away suddenly at her home in Dover on Saturday, July 9, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was 70 years young. Donna was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She came to Denville in 1957 and graduated from Morris Catholic High School in 1963. In 1965, she graduated from Caldwell College with an Associate's Degree in Business. On June 14, 1969 she married her soulmate, Frank M. Costello, and relocated to Dover where they settled in together and started their family. In 1980, Donna started her 34 year career as the Municipal Clerk in Denville. She was a member of the Denville Rotary Club, Past President in 1996-97 & 2002-03. She was also a proud Honorary Fireman for the Denville Fire Department, a member of the Denville Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Municipal Clerks Association of NJ and Morris County, a board member and past Treasurer for the N.J. Foundation of the Blind, and a Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts of America. Donna had a beautiful voice and along with many friends here in Denville would entertain at various events, Joey Bella Beef Steak Dinners, working with St. Francis Follies entertaining the residents at St. Francis, Denville Senior Center, Victoria Mews in Boonton and Franciscan Oaks in Denville. She went out of her way to make people feel good, and many people looked to her for help, and she responded and she had served as a surrogate mother or daughter to many. Donna was a phenomenal wife, mother, and best friend to all. She has left a legacy of love, laughter, and respect that will live on in our hearts and souls forever. Daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Izzo, left to keep her legacy alive is her beloved husband of 47 years, Frank M. Costello of Dover; her adored son and daughter-in-law, William and Cheri Costello of Parsippany; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler J. and Devin A. Costello of Parsippany; her loving sister, Jo-Ann Blaker of Winchester, VA; her caring brothers, Gregory and Elizabeth Ann Izzo of Wharton and Edward and Sharon Izzo of Denville; and many other extended family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 15th at 10:00 am at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Burial will follow at Denville Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 13th 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville.
