Manlio Santino Castrucci 1/23/1925-6/29/2016 Manlio Santino Castrucci was born in Malden, Massachusetts on January 23, 1925, to Italian immigrant parents Antonio and Maria Castrucci, A child of the depression,Mal entered school speaking no English, but scholar that he was, he later graduated from Tufts University. Mal proudly served his country in the Navy as a Marine medic and attended Tufts University on the GI Bill. He was employed at Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical Company as New Product Manager until his retirement. He was a loving and devoted father; husband, brother, uncle and friend and he worked very hard to provide for his family. Mal grew up in the Boston area listening to Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops and always enjoyed listening to Classical music, Leroy Anderson, Carlo Buti an Italian singer, John Phillip Sousa Marches, and bought the first “Meet the Beatles” record for his daughters after the Beatles came to New York in 1964. He was extremely well read and versed in everything and was always sending his family Xeroxed copies of articles he thought they would enjoy. He prided himself on completing the Sunday Times crossword puzzle in ink! Mal was a pencil and paper guy and resisted the advantages of computers although his family constantly tried to interest him in the benefits of being computer savvy. He served as a councilman on the Denville Town Council and was also a Member of the Lions Club in Morristown. His passing leaves a great void to those who admired him.
