Theresa L. "Babci" Petrovich (Szczesna), 86, of Madison, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 24, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Theresa lived in Parsippany, NJ, for 46 years before moving to Madison, NJ in 2005. She graduated from Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY, in 1947. Theresa was an executive secretary for many years for Interpace Corporation and AT&T/Lucent before retiring in 1995. After retirement, she volunteered as a teacher's aide at St. Christopher's Church School in Parsippany, NJ, and helped out at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ. Theresa loved to walk and would be seen regularly walking to work, shopping and around town. A lifelong card player, she liked bridge, canasta and pinochle. She could spend many hours engrossed by a challenging jigsaw puzzle. Theresa especially enjoyed trips to the Atlantic City and Pennsylvania casinos. Theresa was always fond of animals, especially Hubie, her favorite "grand-dog", and she spent many happy hours with Mikey, the resident dog at Sunrise Assisted Living of Madison. Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, John Petrovich, in 1998. She was also predeceased by her sisters Harriet Baginski and Jeanne Tullo, and her brother Stanley Szczesny. She is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy Dupree and her husband, Jeff, of Madison, NJ; her loving daughter, Debbie Daniello and her husband, Terry, of Bushkill, PA; and her cherished granddaughter, Allison Dupree of Madison, NJ. Her twin sister, Mary Vaccaro of North Massapequa, NY; cousin, Rosie Bennett of New Port Richey, FL; and several nieces and nephews also survive her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at St. Thomas More Church, 4 Convent Rd, Morristown, NJ, on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Arrangements are by the Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville, NJ.
