Obituary of Violet Casamento

Please share a memory of Violet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Violet Casamento, wife of Albert Casamento (deceased) and last of the daughters of John and Mary Sirianni of Patchogue Long Island, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 26th surrounded by her family. She was 92 years old. Violet was born in Patchogue, LI to the late John and Mary (nee Ambrose) Sirianni. In her formative years she was the shy sister, but she had an ear for music and played the viola as a child. She married Albert Casamento in 1957 and gave birth to an only son Richard in 1960. After living briefly in Astoria, and Flushing NY, the couple settled in Cresskill NJ for almost 40 years where they raised their son. Violet was alternately a homemaker, secretary, and amateur investor dedicating much of her free time to profitably buying and selling individual stocks using her “system”, which sadly passes with her. She was devoted to her family and left them a rich and loving set of memories and a steely sense of the values of her generation: security; frugality; and fierce independence. She never took a fancy vacation, or owned an expensive piece of jewelry preferring to sacrifice all personal indulgences in favor of the legacy she would one day leave to her family. She died rightfully proud of how much she had achieved with so little to start. In 2006 she moved to Denville to be closer to her son and family. She found great joy in weekly visits with her grandchildren, and left nothing unsaid about her love and pride in her family. Predeceased by her husband Albert (2009); she leaves cherished memories to her son and daughter in law Richard and Lorraine Casamento; adored grandchildren Gabriela and Alex; dear caretaker Keisha Pierre and her large extended family. At Violet’s request, services were held for the immediate family only. Please share your memories by clicking the link below.
