William Joseph Heaney passed away at his home in Montville, NJ surrounded by his family. Born in Passaic, he had lived in Elmwood Park and Fairlawn before moving to Montville, NJ in 1972. William worked for Otis Elevator in Fairfield, NJ for 42 years before retiring in 2002 as senior technician. He was a member of the Riverside Vets, but his family was his passion. He is survived by his loving children Diane Gooding of Montville, Doreen (& Thomas) Deckenbach of Boonton Twp., William (& Christie) Heaney of Pine Brook, Denise Iemmello of Towaco, as well as his Grandchildren Ryan, Raven, Courtney, T.J., Taylor, Nicholas, Joseph, Samantha, Jager, Jesse, Jace, and Marley. He is also survived by his step daughters Jennifer (& Patrick) Sweeney of Lake Hopatcong and Dana (& Richard) Olsen of Asbury Park, NJ, and his brothers James Heaney of NY, and Robert Heaney of North Haledon, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Frances (Giannaula) Heaney in 1993, and his sister Nancy Studt in 2015, and his companion Mary Jo Allen in 2007. Funeral services will begin at 9am on Friday February 19, 2016, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 and then going to St. Pius X Church in Montville for a 10AM Liturgy of Burial Mass. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
