Dominic J. D’Amico, of Rockaway, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 71 years young. Dom was born and raised in Trenton. He later met the love of his life, Betty Anne and they married in 1976 and started to raise their family. They moved to Morristown in 1981 when he was working for Morris County Housing Authority to settle in and continue to make their family grow. By 1995, the D’Amico family settled into Rockaway Borough. Dom retired in 2010 from Saint Francis Residential Community in Denville as the Concierge. Dominic was a hard working, craftsman, outdoorsman, jack of all trades, and most importantly, family man. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. People were drawn to him because he was always the life of the party. He had passion for making people laugh, and keeping their bellies full. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family. They were number one in his life. His legacy of unconditional love and laughter will live on in the hearts and souls of his adored children, Kathleen D’Amico of Rockaway, Sean D’Amico of Rockaway, and Veronica D’Amico of Rockaway; his cherished grandson, Anthony D’Amico of Rockaway; his caring siblings, Roseann D. (the late Wayne) Tiso of Wirtz, VA and Benny (Judith) D’Amico of Robbinsville; his loving nieces, Jennfier Tiso-Orlando and Angeline Dischinger; and his devoted pup, Blake. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Feb. 18th at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Burial will follow at Rockaway Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rockaway. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 17th from 3 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville.
