Lawrence Belmonte, aka Larry, endearingly referred to as Uncle Sonny, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14th at Morris View. He was 80 years young. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 19th at St. Virgil's Parish at 1:30 pm, Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains. Visitation will be held that morning from 11am- 1pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. In lieu of flowers, donations in “Uncle Sonny’s Memory” are being accepted to the good work of Jordan’s Memorial Scholarship, www.jordanmemorialscholarship.com Sonny enjoyed music and played the banjo for most of his life. He loved all family functions and being surrounded by all of his siblings, nieces and nephews. He possessed a beautiful spirit which will remain with us always. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Frances; dear brothers Thomas and Peter Jr; and amazing great nephew Jordan Krakauer; he leaves only happy memories to his brother Robert (Sharyn); sisters Gloria DeLuca, Patricia Lockhart, Kathleen Belmonte, Linda Van Pelt (David)Regina Carrillo (Adolfo)) and his loving a devoted sister Barbara Boller (Paul) of Morris Plains. Larry lived with Barbara for many years and she was truly his port in the storm. Larry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, especially Paul, Emil, Thomas Boller, Frances Boller, Theresa Townsend, David and Ryan Van Pelt, Danny Lockhart, great uncle of Michael and Justin Townsend, all of whom he deeply cherished.
