Obituary of Mario Romano

Mario Romano of Kunkletown, PA passed away suddenly on August 23, 2015 in Wildwood, NJ. He was 83 years young. Born in Sicily, Italy he was raised in Malta before coming to the United States on April 15, 1951. He had lived in Denville, NJ for many years before moving to Kunkletown, PA 30 years ago. He was employed as the head mechanic for the American Can Company, first in Jersey City, and retired from the same company 30 years later that was relocated to Edison, NJ. He was a proud United Steel Worker Member. An avid Jets fan, he had his proudly restored 1957 Oldsmobile painted Jets green. Mario was a devout Catholic that taught himself the Bible. He had a lifelong passion for music, passed down from his mother, which enriched the lives of all that knew him. Above all, he was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that will sorely be missed. He is now reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Patricia Ann Romano and his son Joseph William Romano. He is survived by his loving children William and Kathy Romano of Lehighton, PA, Robert Romano and Olga Robledo of Brodheadsville, PA, Michael and Michele Romano of Rockaway, NJ, Patricia Anne Palumbo of Bethlehem, PA and Deborah Marie and Joseph P. Roth of Belvidere, NJ; his cherished grandchildren Tina Marie Kunkle, Michelle Lorraine Palumbo, Tara Anne Christman, Nicole Marie Palumbo, Danielle Marie Palumbo, Anthony Joseph Palumbo, Susan Marie Romano, Anthony William Romano, Kristen Amanda Romano, Ashley Marie Romano, Lauren Elizabeth Romano; and his adored great grandchildren, Robert Joseph McCormick, Joseph Curry, Angelo Palumbo and Brayden Fedor. Funeral services will begin at 10 am on Saturday August 29, 2015, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 and then going to St. Mary's Church in Denville for a 11:30 am Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Interment services will follow at Denville Cemetery. Friends may visit on Friday from 5-8pm at the Funeral Home. Please share your favorite photographic memory with his family.
