Raymond S. D'Amato Beloved son, brother, and music teacher Raymond S. D'Amato, 68, passed away at his home in Phillipsburg, New Jersey on June 23, 2015. Ray was born in Orange, New Jersey and spent his childhood in Orange, Bloomfield, and Livingston New Jersey. In later years he lived in Hoboken, Livingston, Elizabeth, Florham Park, Hope and Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He began his working career at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken where he served as a Dean of Students. He started his own business in 1988 providing computer consultant services to area businesses. However, Ray's true passion in life was music. Ray was an accomplished pianist and accordionist who performed publicly since his teenage years and taught in local music academies for more than twenty five years. Ray also remained active in several professional musician organizations. He was predeceased by his father, Samuel M. D'Amato, in 1998. He is survived by his mother, Rose Marie D'Amato, his sister, Kathleen Ronlund, of Blairstown, NJ; his brothers, Sam and Bill D'Amato, of San Antonio, TX; and his nephew, Bill Squier, of Jersey City, NJ. Visitation will be held at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, New Jersey 07834 www.normandean.com on Thursday, July 2 between 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, 15 Meyers Avenue, Denville.
