Obituary of Ralph Edmund Romine

Ralph Edmund Romine, 88, of Green Pond, passed away peacefully at Franciscan Oaks Care Center in Denville on June 18, 2015. Ralph received a BA in English from Taylor University in Indiana. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy, having enlisted on D Day. He embarked upon a 25 year career in the Philippines where he was a Missionary and Head of the English Department for Grace Christian High School. That is also where he raised his family. Ralph relocated his family to West Orange, NJ when he began his second career as an Industrial Arts Teacher in East Orange High School. He was a member of the Green Pond Bible Chapel. Left to mourn his loss is his beloved wife of 64 years, Alva Z.; his loving children, Donald (Rhoda) Romine of Kennebunkport, MA, Stephen (Wendy) Romine of Virginia Beach, VA, John (Cindy) Romine, of Amboy, IN, Jerald (Joyce) Romine of Ridgewood, NJ, and Susan (Ralph) Grossmann of Green Pond, NJ; his cherished grandchildren, Molly (Tapha), Blake (Jamie), Michael (Maria), Scott, Jason (Chrissy), Jennifer, Ralph (Taylor), Jack, and Matthew; adored great-grandchildren, Rose, Alpha, Jane, Maggie, and Isla; and caring brother Claude Romine of Evans, GA. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 26th at 12:00 p.m. at Green Pond Bible Chapel, 1083 Green Pond Rd, Newfoundland, NJ 07435. Interment will follow at Marcella Cemetery, Rockaway.
