Obituary of Eric Fendler

Eric (Ric) Fendler, 93, of Parsippany, passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2015. Born in Wallasey Cheshire, England, Ric came to the United States in 1930 through Ellis Island. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters. He began a 20 year career at Prudential Life Insurance and subsequently retired from Picatinny Arsenal in 1980 after an additional 18 years of work as a Staffing Specialist. During his time at Picatinny he was transferred to Germany with his family for 3 years. Eric was a member of the VFW Post #3401 of Morris Plains and the Glacier Hills Association. Eric was an avid golfer and a loving, father, grandfather, husband, and friend of many. Predeceased by his wonderful wife, Jean (nee Frymire), and his two brothers George Washington Fendler and Nelson Fendler. Ric is survived by his loving children, Lynn Fendler of East Lansing, Michigan; Daniel E. Fendler of Lewes, Delaware; Matthew A. Fendler and Karen Campbell of Parsippany, and his cherished grandchildren, Azure Akamay, Kep Amun, Andrew J. Fendler, Cpl Samuel E. Fendler USMC; and his special caregivers Marjorie, Chantelle, and Ky Higgins. Memorial visitation hours will be held on Thursday, April 2nd from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Cremation services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please spend time with your family and loved ones.
