Obituary of Theodore Louis Bremer

Theodore L. Bremer Sr. of Lakewood, NJ, formerly of Denville, passed peacefully from this life on March 21, 2015. He was 77 years old. He was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his discharge, he attended Rutgers University in Newark, NJ and graduated with a B.S. in Accounting and became an accountant by trade. He and his wife Bea spent many summers in Denville at Cook's Lake and they moved their new family there when they were married. There they raised two children, Bea and Teddy, and lived until he retired in 1993. Ted loved traveling with his wife and kids to Europe, Canada, Hawaii and up and down the East Coast visiting historical landmarks and national parks. When Ted retired he and his wife spent many years and travelled to most of the 50 states. Although he moved from Denville in 1994, he retained strong ties to Denville, and considered it his home. Ted was an accountant with Berlex Laboratories in Wayne, NJ before retiring in 1993. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years, acting in many different leadership capacities and earning many awards and accolades such as Wood Badge and the Silver Beaver. He was the Boy Scout Leader for Troop #118 in Denville for many years. Ted is survived by his loving children Bea and husband Rich Niclaus of Lake Hiawatha, and Ted Jr. and wife Gina Bremer of Washington, NJ. His Beloved grandchildren Alyssa, Matthew, Randy, Abbie, Mason, Jessica, Alysa Shields, and Will and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister Laura and her husband Norman Cardine of Demarest, NJ. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Bea in 2009. Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 8PM. Friends may visit prior to the service from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia located at 3925 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope.
