Obituary of Garrett Alexander Dicks

Garrett Alexander Dicks, 33, died on Saturday at his home in Denville, NJ. Garrett was born and was a lifelong resident of Denville. He attended the Denville Schools and Morris County College. He was the founder of the on line global gaming community called The Evil Smurfs. Garrett was a positive force, he changed the world he lived in and inspired many people. He was a computer whiz, a recognized artist, a scrabble master, a Bass fisherman, a racing car enthusiast, a NASCAR fan, and a salt-water aquarist. Garrett was a wonderful son, terrific brother, great uncle and a unique friend. Garrett is survived by his parents Richard and Carol Dicks of Denville, his brother Brandon W. Dicks of Simi Valley, CA, his two sisters, Shelley Waite and her husband Tim of Landenburg, PA, and Lindsey Dicks of Denville, his twin nieces Rebecca and Rachel, his paternal grandmother Josephine Dicks, his aunt and God-Parents, Denise Timinski and her husband Richard of South Plainfield, and his Aunt Beverly Sutton of Sparta, and his many Cousins. Garretts funeral services will be conducted at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Garrett on web site), on Wednesday May 14th at 10:30am. Entombment at Locust Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, Dover, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday May 13th from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
