Kevin John Tinney

Kevin J. Tinney, 45, died at home in Denville, NJ on September, 26.


Kevin was born in Passaic, NJ and lived in Wayne before moving with his family to Denville.


He had received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from University of Scranton in PA.


Kevin began his business career in the recycling industry in 1996 at Lobosco Recycling in Clifton.  Later, he was employed by Zozzaro Industries before accepting the position as president of Green Sky Industries.  Most recently, he became owner and operator of his own business, Full Value Recycling. 


He was a member and served as Treasurer for the New Jersey Paper and Recycling Association. His greatest love was spending time with his two sons, Jonathan and Luke. He enjoyed cheering his sons on at their sporting events and being assistant coach for the Denville’s Blue Angel football team for three seasons.  Kevin passed on a love of fishing to his sons who enjoyed vacations with him at the Jersey shore.  Kevin was a pet lover and known for his gentle ways with his family dog, Banjo, and caring for animals in need.  He instilled in his children a sense of compassion for others and will be remembered for his generosity with his family and friends.   


Kevin leaves behind his wife, Sarah (nee Dorok), and his boys Jonathan and Luke, as well as his parents Raymond and Carol Tinney of Wayne, his sisters Carin Tinney of New York and Jaime (Michael) Morley of Wayne. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Caitlin, Abigail, Peter, Michael, Nicholas, Timothy and Jillian.


Family and friends are visiting on Tuesday October 3, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home and again Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until leaving for a Mass of Christian Burial Service at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church in Denville. Burial will take place in Denville Cemetery following the Mass.
